Calis Beach Blog

At Calis Beach, you get a 4-kilometre stretch of dark sand and shingle. Windsurfing and kite-surfing are the big draws on the watersports front while children can enjoy the Aqua City waterpark 5 minutes’ walk away. Another option a 20-minute walk away  is secluded Calis Koca it comes with 5 kilometres of sand..

Calis Beach is low key when it comes to nightlife. Quiet bars and restaurants attract families and couples who can dine and watch the sunset from seafront venues. A 10-minute drive gets you to the centre of Fethiye where there are coastal night clubs that play a mix of Turkish and British music ’til 5am. There are more elegant bars in the hills behind Fethiye, about 15 minutes’ drive from Calis Beach.

There are 4th-century tombs built into the mountainside at Fethiye a 15-minute drive from here. Next door to the tombs is a fortress built by European Crusaders  from below the crumbling tower you can see right across to Fethiye or 40 minutes by car gets you to the Saklikent Gorge  a 300-metre deep canyon that stretches for 18 kilometres. You can walk through it on a railed bridge or wade through the waist-high water.
